“I do not offer empty promises or cures—I offer a solid foundation mentally, spiritually and physically to work from. When Seth was young, I was going to cure him by the time he was 5 years old. I frantically searched for cures from doctors and naturopaths -- books and studies. No one knew anything about Autism in the late 1980’s. No one understood why My Puzzle Boy would not look at me or why he was so aggressive. They could not tell me why no amount of discipline would work for him!
Why did he go from being Dr. Jekyl to Mr. Hyde? No one knew how someone with Autism would behave. I got laughed at, sneered at and was condemned for my mommy instincts. I knew that he could be a sweet, wonderful boy. But, he would turn aggressive and destructive at the drop of a hat. I saw the change coming in his very eyes.
Finally, I met up with Dr. Doris Rapp. From a book I read “The Impossible Child” and “Is This Your Child?” I found out with bottom line proof that he did indeed have allergies that created a multitude of bizarre behaviors.
The many years ensuing—from my son at age 5 on to 16 years old, I spent beating myself up trying many cures. I ended in virtual defeat of emotion -- nervous system breakdown!
